The Mazateca gets its name from the presence of the indigenous people, the Mazatec and is located in Oaxaca. In their own language, Mazatec, the group is called Ha Shuta Enima, which means "those who work the hills".
Raw Material have done a lot of work in the area to raise the price producers can get for their coffee. The hills in the region are favourable for growing great coffees. The average price in the region was MX$35 / kg of parchment coffee for years, whereas Raw Material's average price this year was MX$80.
